Beginning at 4:25 p.m. on May 7, the NIU Foundation will host the NIU Day of Giving (NIU DOG), its first-ever Day of Giving and we need your help!
In recognition of the year NIU was chartered, 1895, Huskie Nation will have 1,895 minutes to come together and show their Huskie Pride by supporting NIU students, scholarships, and programs. You can help ensure this day of giving is a great success by sharing your passion for NIU with your networks and inspiring others to follow your example and make a gift to the area of campus that is most important to them.
Days of giving are “digital pep rallies” designed to increase donor participation (particularly new and younger donors). They also help ignite online communities’ pride by inspiring them to share why they love their alma mater. Days of giving are most successful when a large number of alumni and friends are helping create buzz and encouraging their peers to get involved.
We are asking Ambassadors to be NIU’s digital leaders, sharing messages and creating excitement about the NIU DOG before and during the campaign. Your help spreading awareness within your network (using your preferred forms of communication – email, text, phone, social media, etc.) will be truly appreciated.
All Ambassadors will be provided with training and a toolkit which includes sample posts, images and emails. Ambassadors will also receive their own personalized link to encourage others to give. During the DOG, you will be able to track your impact on the Ambassador Dashboard.
Will you help us unleash Huskie Pride across our community of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends? Will you help us Unleash the Day of Giving?
