What if I don't see the program, scholarship, or department to which I would like to donate in the list of participating groups?

Please select “Other” in the "Area of Giving" dropdown, and then select "Other" in the "Fund Designation." Then you can write in your designation in the box that appears. If no designation is stated, gift will be allocated to the Northern Fund.

Are gifts tax-deductible?

Absolutely! Upon successful completion of your gift, you will receive an email with a receipt for your tax purposes. 

Can someone give through the mail? How about phone? In person?

Yes! Gifts can be made in advance through the mail. Please be sure make the check payable to the NIU Foundation and to include a note on the memo line of the check that this gift is part of Huskies United 2024. Gifts can be mailed to the NIU Foundation P.O. Box 746 DeKalb, IL 60115-0746. During Huskies United, gifts can also be made over the phone by calling 877-GIV-2-NIU.

My employer will match any gift I make.  Who should I contact about this?

That's great news! Many companies will match employee giving which can double - or even triple - the impact of your gift. For more information about submitting employer matching gift forms please reach out to matchinggifts@niu.edu.

How do I receive a brick building kit?

Donors who give at least $75 during Huskies United will receive a special NIU letters block building kit. And those who give $250 or more will get an Altgeld Hall kit.

Donations of $325 or more are eligible to receive both kits.

When I receive my brick building kit?

Kits will be sent within 6-8 weeks after Huskies United has ended. For questions on delivery, please email northernfund@niu.edu.
