Center for Latino and Latin American Studies

The Center for Latino and Latin American Studies founded the NIU Latinx Oral History Project in 2014. Since then, almost 40 NIU students have recorded more than 200 oral history interviews with Latinxs across the region. Most recently, undergraduate students have worked one-on-one with faculty mentors to document the experiences of Latinxs impacted by the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.

Your contribution will help us continue to train undergraduate students who work on the project as researchers, interviewers, and creators of multimedia. Help us preserve and make more visible the experiences and perspectives of Latinxs across northern Illinois!
