NIU STEM Fest
Help keep NIU STEM Fest innovative, exciting and free for all participants young and old.

Held every October for the last 11 years, NIU STEM Fest is our free, annual celebration of science, technology, engineering and math. A total of over 7,000 STEM Fest volunteers have helped more than 50,000 people enjoy 1,200 exhibits that excite and inspire a love of STEM. Your donation provides support for NIU students to plan and lead hands-on exhibits that build curiosity, spark imagination and foster a love of science, technology, engineering, art and math in a generation of thinkers, doers, and creators.

As we reimagine STEM Fest for 2021 and beyond, we need funding for interactive exhibits, spectacular demonstrations and ongoing activities to keep students engaged all year 'round. Your donation directly provides positive STEM experiences for our students and our STEM Fest families.

Theresa Li, recent NIU graduate, shares the impact of STEM Fest on her career path:

My STEM Fest story started when I was a college freshman at NIU at the age of 18. I was part of the NIU Robotics Club, and they had a booth at STEM Fest where I volunteered. I really enjoyed guiding younger children on how to use the robots the club built. My favorite part was our robot hospital where if a robot were to malfunction, a team of us had to work quickly and diligently to get the robot fixed and back on track. This hands-on experience helped me learn more about robotics, and I am working towards a career in it.”

“I really enjoy the STEM community coming together and showing off what makes STEM so fun and interesting! It's also really inspiring to see so many of the younger generation there having a great time learning. They are the future of STEM!”

Please help STEM Fest make a difference in the lives of NIU students, staff, volunteers and all participants. Donate Today!
