Undergraduate students who engage in faculty-mentored research, scholarship, and creative endeavors experience positive personal, academic, and professional benefits beyond those provided by any other college experience. The NIU’s Office of Student Engagement and Experiential Learning (OSEEL) strives to provide NIU students from all backgrounds and in all majors with the resources and funds to delve deeply into original inquiry and to travel to conferences and national meetings and publish their writing to share their discoveries with a broader scientific or scholarly community.
