The Office for Undocumented Student Support aims to engage and support undocumented and mixed-status students at NIU. The Coordinator for Undocumented Student Support serves as the primary point of contact for the coordination of all support, advocacy, programming assistance and referrals that support educational equity for undocumented and mixed-status students. This year we will be accepting donations for both the Promise Fund and the Immediate Assistance Fund for Undocumented Students.
The Promise Fund provides scholarships to undocumented students who work hard and deserve access to the opportunities they have earned. It assists undocumented students remain in school, attain their degrees and gain a firmer foothold on a brighter future.
The Immediate Assistance Fund provides small grants for emergency needs for undocumented students. A grant could help a student buy an expensive but mandatory textbook, pay their rent or pay for a DACA renewal fee. Huskies appreciate the assistance no matter the donation amount - all donations help!
