The purpose of the Golden Hearts Scholarship is to provide scholarship support for students seeking a degree in management. Through these scholarships, NIU will have to opportunity to memorialize Clay Parks and Trevor Wehner and recognize their positive and generous spirits, their accomplishments and the hopes and dreams they held when they were taken from us on February 15, 2019 at the Henry Pratt plant in Aurora, Illinois.
Current and former NIU students initiated this fund as a way to recognize Trevor and Clay and create a positive legacy going forward through “Golden Heart Scholarships”. These students reached out to their friends and found overwhelming support for the scholarship. College of Business and Management Department faculty and staff offered their assistance and encouragement to support their efforts to create an endowed fund to support scholarships in perpetuity.
