Dan ’87 and Diane Calkins want to see the NIU family come together for Huskies United. When 200 gifts are made to the Northern Fund during Huskies United, their gift of $30,000 will be unlocked into our Northern Fund totals.

NIU's Chief of Staff, Dr. Matt Streb, wants to inspire new donations to NIU. When 50 people make their first-ever gift to whatever area they choose during Huskies United, it will unlock his donation of $1,500 into our totals.

CHANCE Program Director, Adriane Hutchinson, has pledged $1,500 in support of student scholarships and general program support. When 20 gifts are made in support of the McKinley “Deacon” Davis CHANCE Program, it will unlock her gift $1,500.

NIU employee Janiece Bollie is encouraging gifts to NIU’s Center for Nonprofit and NGO Studies Experiential Philanthropy Fund during Huskies United. When 30 gifts are made, it will unlock her gift of $1,500 into our totals.

Dr. Amy Jo Clemens, director of the NIU Center for P-20 Engagement, wants to encourage new donors to support STEM programming for youth in DeKalb. When 15 donors make their first-ever gift to STEM Pathways for Neighborhood Youth, it unlocks a $500 gift!

As a testament to their enduring commitment to the University Honors Program, former directors have joined the current director in putting together a Huskies United challenge gift. Nancy (and husband John) Castle, Christopher (and wife Nicole) Jones, and Carrie Massey (in honor of former director and husband Jim Massey) and current director Andrea Radasanu invite you to join them in support of the University Honors Program and its students. When 30 gifts are made to the University Honors Program, it will unlock their combined gift of $3,000.

The director of NIU's Center for Latino and Latin American Studies (CLLAS), Dr. Christina Abreu, is encouraging friends to support the CLLAS during Huskies United. When 10 gifts of $20 or more are made, it will unlock her gift of $200.

The deans of the College of Law are encouraging gifts during Huskies United. When 50 gifts are made to any area within the College of Law, it will unlock their combined gift of $750 to the Student Emergency Fund. These funds provide assistance to currently enrolled College of Law students who need short-term support to help them continue their education.

Rose M. J. Henton, director of Prevention Education and Outreach, wants to encourage donors to support Prevention Education during Huskies United. This fund helps support graduate assistants and general program support. When 15 gifts are made to Prevention Education, it unlocks her $300 gift.

Generous NIU alumna Amy Fahey '84 believes in the power of Northern Fund giving and is challenging others who care about the future of NIU and the success of students to join her. When 400 gifts are made to the Northern Fund during Huskies United, her gift of $50,000 will be unlocked into our Northern Fund totals.

The NIU Alumni Association Board of Directors is challenging recent NIU graduates (2013-2022) to donate during Huskies United. When 30 graduates from the classes of 2013-2022 donate during Huskies United, it will unlock their combined gift of $6,000 to the Northern Fund.

Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Dr. Vernese Edghill-Walden, wants to inspire giving to the priorities of Academic Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ADEI). When 100 people make a gift of any size to ADEI, it will unlock a gift of $5,000.

The director of the Center for Nonprofit and NGO Studies, Dr. Alicia Schatteman, wants to encourage gifts to the Center during Huskies United. When 15 gifts are received for NNGO, it will unlock her gift of $1,500.

Generous supporters of the NNGO program and NIU alumnae Kymber Messersmith ’88 (with a matching gift from her employer, KPMG) and Julie Ann O’Connell ’87 are eager to see 50 total gifts to the NNGO program during Huskies United. When 50 gifts are made, it will unlock their combined gift of $5,000.

Dr. Rena Cotsones, Chief Engagement Officer, wants to inspire donors to support STEM neighborhood outreach in DeKalb. The first $500 in gifts to STEM Pathways for Neighborhood Youth will unlock Dr. Cotsones's matching gift of $500.

A group of NIU faculty have created a special challenge to support undocumented students. When 15 gifts are made to the Immediate Assistance Fund for Undocumented Students, it will unlock their gift of $500. This challenge gift has been created in honor of Sandy Lopez upon receiving her doctorate.

Friends of NIU's College of Law, Josh Hill and Melissa Murray, want to encourage gifts to the Dean's Strategic Priorities Fund. When 20 gifts are made to the Dean's Strategic Priorities Fund, it will unlock their gift of $500.
