The Division of Academic Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ADEI) provides many engaging educational and co-curricular experiences to work towards an inclusive campus where everyone respects the value and dignity of all its members.
ADEI leads a wide array of areas towards equity-minded outcomes for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members through the Diversity and Cultural Resource Centers, Undocumented Student Resource Center, Social Justice Education (SJE), Prevention Education and Outreach, and Faculty Academy on Cultural Competence and Equity. As a growing need for our campus community, ADEI leads the campus towards Hispanic Serving Institution designation and related initiatives and support for First-Generation College Students. With our partners in the Division of Student Affairs, ADEI is a key partner in advancing NIU's Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation Center.
Your support will provide opportunities to expand opportunities for students to enhance their cultural intelligence through campus-wide justice and equity education, increase scholarship support for first-generation college students, advance Hispanic Serving Institution initiatives, expand inclusive leadership development and civic engagement, develop summer bridge programs, and increase study abroad and local experiences and scholarships.
Our goal is to ensure every Huskie can be affirmed in their lived experiences while they strengthen our community as the next generation of leaders and scholars.
