The 2021 Thousands Strong day of giving will help strengthen NIU as an engine for innovation, creativity and social mobility. 

The initiative will begin on the evening of Nov. 10 with a 1,000 second kickoff show that will culminate in a life-changing scholarship reveal. Attendees will also have the chance to win valuable NIU prizes.

This event will be followed by the Thousands Strong day of giving, which will continue through November 11. This is an opportunity for alumni and friends to engage with NIU in an exciting, virtual initiative that will increase and expand alumni pride and engagement and celebrate the impact of philanthropy at Northern Illinois University.

We need you to support our "Thousands Strong" Day of Giving as an ambassador who shares our important message via e-mail, phone, text, and social media to create excitement about the virtual kick off as well as the day of giving before and during the event. Your help spreading awareness within your network will be invaluable.

 All ambassadors will be given training and a toolkit which includes sample posts, images and e-mail text. Ambassadors will also receive their own personalized link to encourage others to give. During the DOG, you will be able to track your impact (and note who to thank!) on the ambassador dashboard.
