Our department is a resource center and lounge space that serves NIU students facing various unique challenges. Although we welcome anyone to our office and lounge space, we're focused on students who live off campus, commute from home, have children, are currently serving in the military or are student veterans, are online learners and/or over the age of 24.
Our staff is dedicated to helping this student population obtain resources and enact programming that will help them be successful during their NIU studies. The office assists students with locating housing and childcare options, academic and career support, financial aid for student veterans and even free coffee and the occasional lunch. We invite all, especially NIU alums and supporters, to visit our lounge in the Campus Life Building Room 170 or visit our offices in CLB 240. We would be more than happy to connect with you and discuss supporting our military and post-traditional students.
